The Cost of Depression
What does it cost you to have someone absent from work, 3 or 4 days a month, due to depression? How much over 12 months? What are the costs of decreased productivity, lowered staff morale as the remaining team attempts to cope and cover for someone who is away every month? It costs millions of dollars annually.
Can you afford to ignore depression? Depression: The Leading Cause of Disability in Australia
Approximately 5.8 % of employees have depression each year. Depression is the leading cause of disability in Australia. Although depression is highly treatable, approximately half of people with depression do not seek treatment.
In Australia,
- 6 Million working days are lost each year, due to absenteeism from depression [Australian Bureau of Statistics, ABS].
- 30 million working days per year have reduced productivity due to depression.
- Employees with depression have at least a 40% reduction in their performance.
- The total cost to an employer of depression is $483 p.a. / employee. (NOTE: THIS IS $483 FOR EACH AND EVERY EMPLOYEE, NOT JUST THOSE WITH DEPRESSION).

As you can see untreated depression is costly, I would like to offer your employees the benefits of Clinical Hypnosis to reduce their stress and depression. There is a large body of clinical evidence and a growing body of empirical evidence that Clinical Hypnosis can contribute significantly to positive treatment results in a variety of ways both directly and indirectly related to depression. Further research has pointed to psychoanalysis taking 600 hours to achieve a 30% success rate. Clinical Hypnosis on the other hand has been shown to achieve a 93% success rate in 6 or less hours.
